Prof. Dr. Billur Yalt\u0131 is a professor of tax law at Ko\u00e7 University Law School in Istanbul, Turkey. She lectures tax law, company taxation law, and tax litigation law at undergraduate level, and international tax law at graduate level. She received her LLB (1984), LLM (1987) and PhD (1992) in fiscal law from Istanbul University.<\/p>\n

Prof. Yalt\u0131 has focused her research on international tax law. She carried on research on international tax treaties and valued added taxation in the European Union at the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBFD), Amsterdam, Netherlands during 1990, 1996 and 2007. She conducted research on taxation of electronic commerce at New York University Law School as a Fulbright scholar in 2000. She also participated as a national reporter in various international tax conferences held by the Vienna University, Economy Faculty, International and Austrian Tax Institute, European Tax Law Professors Association, Group of Research on European and International Taxation (GREIT) and London School of Economics. She is the author of books and articles on double tax treaties, EU direct taxation, value added tax, e-commerce taxation and taxpayers’ rights.<\/p>\n

Prof. Yalt\u0131 has been the country correspondent for various tax publications of the IBFD since 1997. She is a member of the European Tax Law Professors Association (EATLP) and the International Fiscal Association (IFA). She is the founding president of the International Tax Research Association (IFA Turkey).<\/p>\n

\"\"One of the founders of IFA Turkey, Erdal \u00c7al\u0131ko\u011flu has worked as a Tax Partner in EY Istanbul Office for 25 years and has served as the Head of Tax Department in the recent years. Before joining EY, Erdal \u00c7al\u0131ko\u011flu worked as a Tax Inspector\/Senior Tax Inspector at the Ministry of Finance between 1983 and 1994. During his term of office, he was assigned to the UK to analyze the tax inspection system and the authorities of tax inspectors. Specialized in many fiscal subjects from finance legislation to transfer pricing, he particularly offers tax advisory in corporate tax, transfer pricing, tax controversy, company mergers, spin-offs, acquisitions, share exchanges and similar restructuring operations.<\/p>\n

G\u00fcnd\u00fcz, who started his career as a Finance Inspector within the Ministry of Finance, joined PwC Turkey Office Tax Services as a tax manager in 1992. G\u00fcnd\u00fcz, who was accepted as a partner at PwC in 1997, worked at various levels throughout his career. He served as PwC Turkey’s Tax and Legal Services Leader between 2010 and 2020, and served as PwC Europe Tax – Board Member during the same period. As a finance inspector, G\u00fcnd\u00fcz conducted numerous tax audits for private companies and government institutions, and also participated in the inspections of various ministry departments. His extensive experience also includes a one-year secondment to the UK. As of July 1, 2022, he is the founding partner of G\u00fcnd\u00fcz&\u00d6zgen\u00e7 Law Partnership.<\/p>\n

After working as an auditor on tax audits, and in consultancy for international and local corporations for a year, she joined the tax and customs disputes management department. Ezgi Turkmen became a partner in the tax practice area in 2016. Turkmen specialises in tax law, and she provides consultancy related to settling tax and customs disputes by both administrative and judicial means for companies in various sectors. She is the founding partner of IFA Turkey, and also a member of the Istanbul Bar Association.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Sedat Kurdo\u011flu” tab_id=”1451403367383-e2f6a33d-bc42″ el_class=”kurulust”][vc_column_text] \"\"Sedat Kurdo\u011flu (CPA), after graduating from the Department of Business Administration at Istanbul University, completed his master’s degree in the Economics department at Boston University. Kurdo\u011flu began his career in 1995 as Assistant Finance Manager at Sistem Yay\u0131nc\u0131l\u0131k A.\u015e. Between 1999 and 2013, he was the Chief Controller of Revenues and Tax Chief Inspector at the Tax Inspection Board of the Ministry of Finance. He conducted tax audits for local major companies and multinational corporations in accordance with tax regulations. He contributed to the development of new audit models to enhance the efficiency of tax practices. Kurdo\u011flu conducted research and reporting on economics and public finance.<\/span><\/p>\n

As of 2013, he was appointed as a partner at Mazars Turkey. He worked on tax compliance studies related to Corporate Income Tax, Income Tax, and VAT regulations. He provides tax consultancy on issues such as taxes, incentives, mergers and acquisitions, and restructuring. He served for two years as the Managing Editor for Tax Issues Journal. He was part of the team that prepared the Tax Incentives – Turkey Report for the Research and Development segment for the 2018 congress organized by the International Fiscal Association (IFA).
